Set a Goal and be Consistent!

What does being consistent mean to you in regards to your fitness or weight loss plan? First, let’s look at a few other words that describe consistent: dependable, persistent, same, steady, true, and undeviating. Is that how you would describe your current fitness plan? If you are not being consistent, are you getting the results that you’re looking for? My guess is probably not.

There are two main items that need to be performed on a DAILY basis that requires you to be consistent to achieve maximum results:
-Supportive Nutrition AND
-Effective Exercise

Are you thinking, why supportive nutrition?

You need the kind of supportive nutrition that allows you to see results with
your fat loss efforts.

It’s pretty basic, here’s the breakdown:

Protein Rich Meals and Snacks
Meals and Snacks Every 3-4 Hours
Minimum Processed Carbohydrates
Lots of H2O
Lots of Vegetables
Essential Fats (3-6 grams)
No Sugar!

That’s what I’m talking about, THAT kind of supportive nutrition.

So what about Effective Exercise, what does that mean? You know what exercise is, but how does that differ from it being effective or not? Effective Exercise is exercise performed with a desired effect.

So Effective means: A Desired Outcome.

Here’s an example:

Increased Metabolic Rate
Increased Protein Turnover
Increased VO2 Max
Increased Strength
Increased Recovery
ETC.

Effectively exercising translates into: Results, as in a lean, sculpted hot body!

With “activity”, you’re simply keeping ‘active’ with none of the above outcomes. Non-effective exercise is more along the lines of ‘activity’…just keeping active to keep active. Huh? Basically, you’re just moving with little to show for it but the few calories you’ll burn when you’re doing whatever activity to be ‘active.’

Here’s a simple way to look at it:
Effective = Results

vs.

Non-Effective = Not So Much

If you’ve not set any goals for yourself in your fitness plan, you must make one or a few now! Trying to produce results without any motivation or having a goal is a ‘chance’ undertaking. What’s your reason for attaining your end result? Is it something like weight loss or improving your fitness goals by becoming stronger and faster? If you don’t set one yourself, surely no one can do it for you. When you set a goal and are consistent to reach that goal, even if it’s hard, you can do it when you set your mind to it. If determination and consistency is in your vocabulary…you will without a doubt reach your goal, whatever it may be!
